Iagons are a species of tall, slender, delicately featured Near-Humans that live on the planet Iagos in the Expansion Region. They are by nature a peaceful people completely ignorant of warfare, political maneuvering, and confrontation. The Empire maintains order with a minimally manned garrison, most of whom are so amazed at the Iagon's calm demeanor that they don't even bother to accost the citizenry. The Iagons simply meet their production and taxation quotas silently and nod obediently when they are raised. Ironically, Alliance and later New Republic operatives became completely disgusted with the Iagons' apathy toward their own subjugation and ceased all efforts to forment discord on Iagos. One notable aspect of the planet Iagos is a Vergeance in the Force centered on a calm pool near an isolated community. Called the Nal'raq'vatar, the Vergeance inexplicably wells up with the dark side of the Force exactly every one hundred planetary revolutions around the Iagol Prime, the system primary. According to an ancient pact, the Jedi Order sends a team to counter this welling of the dark side to keep the Iagons safe and keep the Nal'raq'vatar from running rampant throughout the galaxy. The exact nature of the threat is unknown as the Jedi have always been able to send a team; however, with the collapse of the Jedi Order, the pact must be fulfilled by whomever has the ability to do so during the Rebellion or New Republic era.
Personality: Iagons are a peaceful, non-confrontational, even-tempered people with no use for conflict. In some cases an Iagon will not even fight to defend itself if the situation is hopeless or if there is any hope that surrender will lead to mercy. It is not cowardice, but a refusal to struggle against inevitability.
Physical Description: Iagons are tall, slender near-Humans with bald heads and delicate features. It is interesting to note that their slender frames disguise the fact that Iagons possess a hideous strength rivalling that of Wookiees.
Homeworld: Iagos. The Empire has renamed the planet Obeydius.
Language: Iagons speak Ias and Basic.
Names: Iagons have names similar and as varied as Humans.
Adventurers: Iagons make poor adventurers, but if forced by circumstance to journey the path of a hero, any character is theoretically available to them. Iagons that took up the path of the Jedi were noted for their skill at healing and scholarly pursuits.

Or rather, them!
Very interesting indeed....especially with that Darkside pool...
Could the unattended pool push one of the Iagons over to the darkside? And if so, would that be su [ . . . ] | | Jim Williams |
Originally posted by Dragon Fox IX
